Construction Forecasting Council
Twice each year, KPMG Econtech provides updated, detailed forecasts of construction activity for the Construction
Forecasting Council, which is chaired by Peter Verwer, CEO of the Property Council of Australia. These forecasts
can be accessed free-of-charge on www.cfc.acif.com.au. The forecasts take
into account economic fundamentals, leading indicators of activity published by the ABS, Reed Data Construction
information on forthcoming engineering projects and industry intelligence from the CFC members.
The forecasts of construction work distinguish twenty categories of construction activity in each state and territory.
We also forecast construction employment in each state and territory and according to broad skill levels. Our forecasts
of construction industry costs distinguish between the different sectors of the industry.
Customised Construction Forecasts
Econtech provides customised forecasts of construction costs, prices, activity and employment on a consulting basis. Depending
on data availability, we are able to provide customised forecasts for particular geographic locations, types of
construction and stages of construction activity. We discuss your forecasting requirements with you then develop a methodology
to produce the forecasts and regular updates.
